The LIA team provides insurance due diligence and advisory services to financiers of structured finance transactions worldwide. This role offers excellent learning opportunities, hands on experience, and clear scope for development as the team continues to expand.**What you'll do*** Support the LIA team in their day‑to‑day activities, contributing to the growth of the LIA business and wider Howden objectives.* Assist in preparing proposals for RfPs, negotiating fees, and drafting engagement letters.* Collaborate with the operations team to review NDAs, complete compliance requirements, and ensure timely client invoicing.* Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative to support the expansion of the LIA offering in the UK and internationally.* Partner with the Client Engagement team on internal and external business development activities.* Represent Howden at external events, conferences, and industry functions.* Provide support to colleagues on additional activities and initiatives as needed.* Deliver insurance due diligence assignments in line with agreed scopes of work, including:* Engaging with bankers, technical advisers, project sponsors, legal advisers, and borrower representatives.* Researching technical insurance considerations for specific projects and liaising with subject‑matter experts within Howden.* Preparing insurance reports for both pre‑financial close and operational phases.* Providing written and verbal advice to lenders on insurance aspects of their transactions.* Negotiating with project company brokers.* Ensuring all deliverables meet LIA quality standards.* Travelling within the UK and internationally as required.**Who we're looking for*** Educated to Degree level standard or equivalent.* Progress towards ACII or a willingness to complete the ACII qualification is essential.* 2-5 years’ experience in the insurance industry.* Prior experience as a Lenders’ Insurance Adviser or within insurance due diligence is preferred.* Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance (essential).* Sector experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:* Renewables (solar, wind, hydropower, battery storage).* Mining.* Power & conventional energy.* Infrastructure & PPPs.* Real estate.* Excellent organisational and planning capabilities.* Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills are an advantage.* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately and present clear findings.* Creative and solutions‑focused approach to problem solving.* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.* Confident engaging with senior decision‑makers.* Persistent, proactive, and results‑driven.* Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.* Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant IT systems.A career that you define.
