Job description

Connect Fibre is a rapidly expanding and exciting new business offering the very latest ‘Full Fibre’ to homes and businesses across the nation. With broadband speeds of up to 1000Mbps, new Wi-Fi 6 technology, exceptional customer service, and costing no more than current competitive internet packages, customer growth is expected to be exponential. Our product sells itself!

We now seek a dynamic, ambitious individual to join our Delivery Team.

The Role

As a “Connector” you will play a pivotal role in our mission to provide the UK with faultless broadband at unprecedented speeds. We have a revolutionary, premium, future-proof product that is fairer, faster and flawless for our customers and as with all machines, we have a lot of moving parts (especially within the delivery team). We have created a Project Control Team to help to ensure the deliveries are successful, and as such we are hiring a manager for this team. We consider the Project Team Manager an extremely important position within the Delivery function, therefore the role holder will need to have held 6+ years in Senior Project Manager or PMO positions, ideally not within the Fibre industry. You will ensure all the T’s are crossed and I’s are dotted by keeping a finger on the pulse of all Delivery work streams, and ensuring your team are working to their highest potential.

As our Project Control Team Manager, you will be tasked with, but not limited to, some of the items below:

  • Leading and helping to build up a lean team of junior PM’s and Co-ordinators.
  • Be an enabler of benefits realisation through successful end-to-end delivery of change initiatives.
  • Build cross-workstream relationships to drive strategic alignment for the business objectives.
  • Provide detailed reporting on all the Delivery department’s workstreams.
  • Design custom project delivery ecosystems with your expertise in Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, and/or other hybrid frameworks.
  • Detailed task and people management.
  • Orchestrate and support the wider team’s mission.
  • Orchestrating and delivering on a set of KPIs.
  • Driving the accountability plan.
  • Working with the Chief Delivery Officer and HoDs to explore new ways of working and technology that will add to our levelling up plan.
  • Managing and applying ownership to each of the Delivery business unit’s projects.
  • Identifying Risks and developing mitigation strategies with the wider team.
The Candidate

We are looking for a seasoned Project Team Manager who will uphold the highest of standards in E2E team and workstream project management. We require a charismatic and forward-thinking individual who can champion success and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.

  • You must be extremely competent in project management styles (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid frameworks).
  • You must have proven experience in data management, portfolio management, process optimisation and change management.
  • You will be astute, confident, professional, polite, and happy to work remotely.
  • You must be proficient at leading a Team.
  • You must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You must have a forward thinking and pro-active approach to work.
  • You must be willing to travel occasionally to our offices/sites, when requested.
The Rewards
  • Birthday off
  • Company pension contribution
  • £1,000 employee referral scheme
  • Superb maternity support package
  • Generous business mileage reimbursement.
