Job description

To empower faith communities and interfaith networks to bring about social change, social cohesion, improve quality of life, and ensure their voices are heard by local authorities and service providers. The role builds capacity within faith groups and facilitates interfaith collaboration.

We are seeking applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive, partnership‑based working with Faith, Belief and Interfaith organisations.

Key Responsibilities
Interfaith Network Engagement
  • Identifying the faith community needs, problems, and barriers, and ensuring local people can participate and have their say in decision‑making processes.
Capacity Building
  • Supporting faith groups to develop and strengthen their operations, including establishing governance structures, writing policies, and demonstrating impact.
Funding and Resources
  • Assisting with grant funding applications, identifying funding opportunities, managing small budgets, and helping groups access necessary resources.
Partnership Working
  • Acting as a bridge between interfaith networks and other stakeholders, such as local government, health services, and voluntary sector providers, to build collaborative relationships and address service gaps.
  • Work collaboratively and asset‑based, supporting Faith, Belief and Interfaith organisations and their members to shape and co‑design local services.
  • Build trust‑based relationships with diverse Faith, Belief and Interfaith organisations through respectful, open and consistent engagement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, including coordinating and facilitating visits from faith groups.
Project Management
  • Develop workplans that actively reflect and apply the principles and commitments set out in the Faith, Belief and Interfaith Covenant.
  • Planning, monitoring, and evaluating projects and events, such as training programmes, network meetings, and community initiatives.
  • Design and deliver faith‑aligned development programmes that contribute to organisational strategy and local priorities.
  • Produce project plans, manage timelines and risks, and coordinate volunteers/partners.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on outcomes to leadership, funders, and partners.
Advocacy
  • Advocating for members of the faith community whose voices are seldom heard, to aid inclusive decision‑making.
Administration & Communication
  • Maintaining administrative systems, mapping, producing reports, social media content and creating general awareness about the Interfaith Network.
  • Track policy developments relevant to faith communities and provide concise insights internally and externally.

The role is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract – Possibility of extension subject to funding.
