Job summary

A specialist Health and Social Care provider is recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker located in Lincoln. This role involves providing 1-2-1 support to a male individual with treatment resistant schizophrenia. Job description

Gray Healthcare are recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker, within the Lincoln area of Lincolnshire to support a Male who has a diagnosis of treatment resistant schizophrenia.

The Person we support lives independently in their own home receiving 1-2-1 support 24 hours a day.

The person is supported by a mixed team of male & females on shifts of days and waking nights.

The male we support enjoys going out in the community, listening to music, and DJ’ing on his own decks.

We are recruiting UK Manual drivers only for this role as the individual we support will have a mobility vehicle to access the community.

Mental Health Worker Required Skills and Experience
  • Full UK Manual Driving License – Essential.
  • Social care experience, ideally within Mental Health, schizophrenia and with some experience of supporting individuals with COPD
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours perceived as challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Experience adapting communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, to aid understanding of the supported individual.
  • Motivated to promote engagement in meaningful activity
  • A desire to support the individual in their cultural and spiritual needs
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.
  • This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Working Hours

36 hour contract 3 x 12 hour days shifts from 8am to 8pm, waking nights from 8pm to 8am

Induction and Training

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.) Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
