With a 50:50 split between groundwater and surface water, this role sits right at the intersection of science, strategy and operational decision‑making.**The role**As **Hydrology Manager**, you’ll lead a team of specialists, providing expert hydrological advice that underpins critical business decisions. You’ll be responsible for managing water resource risk—both **quantity and quality**—and ensuring we are fully prepared for drought and climate uncertainty.This is a rare chance to combine **technical excellence**, **people leadership**, and **strategic influence** in a role that genuinely shapes our future water resilience.**What you’ll be doing*** **Lead hydrological strategy** across water resources and drought planning, including hydrological inputs to statutory Drought Plans* **Play a key leadership role in drought response**, acting as a principal hydrological contact and leading tactical and strategic workstreams* **Oversee hydrological analysis, modelling and reporting**, ensuring data drives innovative, practical solutions* **Manage complex, high‑impact projects**, from drought permit preparation to data visualisation and insight* **Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders**, including the Environment Agency and internal decision-makers* **Translate complex science into clear, actionable insight** that supports confident business decisions**About you**You’ll bring a strong blend of **technical credibility and leadership capability**, with the confidence to operate in a fast‑moving, high‑stakes environment.* Proven experience in **hydrology or water resources management*** Strong analytical and scientific expertise, with a strategic mindset* Inspirational leader, able to motivate and develop specialist teams* Excellent communicator, skilled at simplifying complex information* Confident stakeholder manager with strong influencing skills* Full UK driving licence required - **You’ll be based in the office 1–2 days per week, with the flexibility to work from home or in another of our offices for the remainder of the time.
