The team manager is responsible for all aspects of their allocated team/department or shift. To ensure their direct reports are given clear, concise direction to achieve their targets/objectives, and to ensure that their team/shift are focussed on achieving the highest possible standards in safety, accuracy, productivity and morale.
Key Accountabilities
- Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
- Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
- Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid the damage of corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute.
- Promote and display the Epwin Core Values.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety guidelines and legislation are adhered to within their area of control.
- Ensure that all required H&S audits/checks are completed to the required standard/timescales.
- Ensure that all SOP’s/agreed processes are followed by themselves and their teams to achieve the highest levels of accuracy/productivity.
- Ensure that all aspects of absence management and performance management are carried out to the specified company guidelines and instructions. (inc Disciplinary investigations and/or hearing where required)
- Ensure that allocated financial/P&L budgets are achieved through:
- Overtime Spends
- Plant & Machinery Damage
- Temp Agency Labour
- Ensure that new starters receive a positive, engaging, induction and training period. With the required PDR performance reviews being conducted at the specified times.
- Encourage a positive and engaged workforce culture within your team/department.
- Ensure that a CI/Quality culture is adopted within your team/area, and improvement ideas are encouraged and implemented.
- Operate with the highest levels of integrity, support, and cooperation with your team, peers, and other internal and external contacts.
- Deputise for the Head of Warehouse & Distribution where required.
- Create succession planning and development within your team structure, so that your direct reports and their teams have clear career direction
Key Experiences and Skills Required
- Senior level warehouse management experience is essential.
- Management experience in a complex, customer driven environment.
- WMS experience, preferably “Navision”.
- Excellent communicator – with the ability to manage and communicate with all levels.
- Excellent problem solving and investigation skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate in a challenging, warehouse environment.
- Clear demonstration of where they have made improvements in their current/previous role
