Job description

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team responsible for the delivery of major projects on our 17-year civils and concrete structures framework for the PPP at Sellafield. Works will include earthworks, concrete structures, blockwork, and other related activities.

The Senior Engineer Role

Reporting to the Project Manager / Chief Engineer, you will manage and deliver work packages, both self-delivered and subcontracted, across various sections such as Earthworks, Piling, Road Construction, Drainage, Reinforced Concrete, Formwork, Lifting Operations, and Civil Support for power and water management, including temporary works.

• Manage works in line with programmes, health and safety, and quality procedures.
• Coordinate with client technical, delivery, and design teams.
• Manage SRM departments including temporary works, lifting solutions, quality, and safety.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff.
• Produce construction documentation.

Your Profile

• Experience with Nuclear & Sellafield Major Projects.
• Proven ability in large-scale excavation and reinforced concrete structures.
• Familiarity with T12 week Work Package planning and nuclear environment standards.
• Knowledge of nuclear quality standards, stakeholder planning, hazard screening, RAMS, permits, and site standards.
• Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain packages.
• Competence in construction software and understanding of construction processes.
• Knowledge of weekly and four-weekly look-ahead programmes.
• Understanding of relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Proficiency with engineering instruments (e.g., Total Station, Levels).
• Health & Safety awareness and certifications (SMSTS, NEBOSH preferred).
• Degree in a construction-related field.
