A great opportunity to participate in the leadership of Southside Housing Association, a high-profile organisation within the social housing sector, providing housing and a range of services across the south side of Glasgow. Community controlled, we currently own and manage approximately 2,300 houses for social rent, provide factoring services to 800 owners and through our subsidiary Southside Lettings Ltd, we manage 200 properties for Mid-Market Rent. We also have an ongoing development programme to build new homes.

The Finance & Corporate Services Director will be responsible for the strategic management of our financial, corporate and IT functions, ensuring compliance with good governance practice and other financial, statutory and regulatory requirements. There are various strands to this role which make it more than just a Finance role. With oversight of our Corporate Services and IT Department you will have overall responsibility for our approach to corporate and governance matters working closely with the CEO and our Leadership team.

Our next steps in IT are exciting in Southside where, as a Leadership Team, we are keen to improve our services both internally and also to our customers – you will have a managerial role in this development. You will have overall responsibility for financial planning and performance, including internal and external audit, regulatory returns, our risk register and arrangements, financial plans, budgets and cash flows, policies and procedures.

Key outcomes:
• Contribute effectively to leadership and strategic direction of the Association
• Deliver complete strategic management and control of Finance and Corporate Services Departments
• Sound governance of finance function and compliance with all relevant frameworks, regulation and best practice
• Provide line management, performance measurement, coaching & leadership to staff

We are seeking:
• A professionally qualified accountant
• A leader, used to operating at a senior level
• A strategic thinker, able to make a contribution
• A communicator, able to influence
• Experience of working with a board, scale & complexity
• Good understanding of corporate governance
• Experience of financial planning & budgeting, KPIs, financial modelling tools,
• An understanding of treasury strategy
• A strong understanding of the underlying financial control environment.
