Overview

Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint a Design Manager, to support our growing Data Centre business. We are committed to providing cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Center facilities and are recruiting a Design Manager to join our innovative team in projects based in the UK. The Design Manager will be focused on the management of design and technical support services to our data center projects and will support the teams in the resolution of design related issues in a timely manner, ensuring there are no delays to the construction and fit-out process.

Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for the design coordination within the project.
  • Liaise with the client to establish information flow and platforms to be utilised.
  • Work with the programmers to establish timelines and take responsibility for the production and control of the design programme and report against it.
  • Manage the uploading of the design information in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the Design management tools to ensure all information is available and is in the correct location.
  • Organise, control and manage the design team meetings with the client and their teams.
  • Identify and manage risk from drawings, specifications, programme and procurement.
  • Identify problems and offer solutions.
  • Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards.

Who we are looking for
  • Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
  • Background in Electrical/Mechanical or Construction design.
  • In-depth knowledge of the design and construction process.
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve with the ability to effectively manage risk.
  • Be self-motivated, with proven organisational ability and the drive to meet deadlines.
  • Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Attention to Health and Safety matters.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Experience in the data centres sector is desirable.
