Job summary

A chemical manufacturing company in West Bromwich is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design and install essential control and safety systems. Candidates should have an HNC in Controls or related engineering fields, and proficiency in Allen Bradley systems and AutoCAD. Strong understanding of functional safety and prior instrumentation experience are preferred. This role offers excellent progression opportunities in a long-term position.

Qualifications

• HNC in Controls/Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering required.
• Proficient in Allen Bradley control systems and AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of the design of functional safety, SIL, LOPA and Safety Instrumented Systems.
• Understanding of chemical manufacturing and ATEX preferred.
• Previous instrumentation engineering experience is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification and installation of control and safety systems.
• Review and approval of change management proposals.
• Identify and repair control system failures.
• Assist with the development and training of department resources.

Skills

Experience in chemical manufacturing

Proficiency in Allen Bradley control systems

Proficiency in AutoCAD

Understanding of functional safety
