Qualifications

  • Holistic end-to-end Programme Management experience.
  • IOSH or equivalent H&S management training.

Contracts Manager – SISK Group

Live Science Team – Oxford, England

The Contracts Manager is the senior site leader with overall responsibility for the delivery of the project(s) and for the financial performance of the contract, working in concert with the Quantity Surveyor (QS). The role includes coordinating all aspects of the contract, ensuring that the project meets client expectations and that the contract is delivered in line with SISK HSEQS policies and standard operating procedures.

Preconstruction
  • Prepare the programme, method statements and submission
  • Produce the contract programme (having typically worked with the Estimating Department during the bid stage)
  • Instruct the QS to agree all major preliminary items expenditure, including plant, accommodation
  • Chair start‑up and production meetings (including working with the Regional Director to allocate suitably skilled team members)
  • Manage the subcontract‑buying schedule with the QS
Construction & Design
  • Lead all aspects of Project Team functions (PEP, Risk & Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management & Project Close‑Out)
  • Ensure that the project team and supply chain have the required H&S skills and competencies to meet HSEQS expectations
  • Manage consultant and subcontract design, including delivery of the BIM strategy
  • Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan
Post Construction
  • Obtain the defects list, remedy any items and obtain the Certificate of Making Good Defects
  • Instruct QS in the preparation of Loss and Expense Applications and in the provision of information for the Final Account
  • Manage and control operating budgets
  • Has authority to approve expenditure, appoint subcontractors, change subcontractors and sign off on monthly commercial reports
  • Articulate and demonstrate numeracy skills
  • Good working knowledge of Design and Build JCT, NEC3 contracts, as well as BREEAM and LEED
  • More than 5 years’ experience in the sector or a minimum of 2–3 projects delivered across different industry sectors
  • Demonstrable holistic end‑to‑end Programme Management experience
