The practice’s architecture responds to social, environmental and economic challenges alike, shaping the way people engage with place and, in turn, the planet. RSHP’s design approach is rooted in thoughtfulness, problem-solving and ingenuity, always with adaptability in mind. Social responsibility is at the heart of RSHP, with £19.8 million distributed through the practice’s charity to date.

To further advance our parametric and performance-driven design capabilities, we are seeking a Junior Computational Designer to join our Project Technology team. This role contributes directly to the development of rigorous digital workflows, geometry optimisation strategies, and interoperable tools that support informed, efficient, and technically robust architectural solutions across the practice.

It’s a varied and rewarding position at the heart of a global practice, where the culture is one of sharing knowledge and coming together for discussion and teamwork, working on high-profile projects in over 15 countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Development and support of computational design workflows and advanced parametric models for project teams across all stages of design.
  • Assist in strengthening and expanding intricate Revit-based workflows, including Rhino.Inside.Revit integrations, enabling seamless data exchange between computational design and BIM.
  • Assist with geometry optimisation, rationalisation, and performance-driven analysis, contributing to data-led decision-making.
  • Integrate computational tools into architectural design and documentation processes, ensuring solutions are both technically rigorous and aligned with project intent.
  • Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to deliver digital modelling insights, including environmental and performance simulation support.
  • Create and maintain custom scripts, components, and tools—primarily using Grasshopper, Python, and C#—to improve design efficiency and interoperability.
  • Contribute to the documentation and standardisation of computational workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in computational design, digital fabrication, data processing, and sustainability-focused analytical tools.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Master’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Architectural Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on computational or digital design.
  • Strong proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino.Inside.Revit, Dynamo, MKS Beam to build integrated design workflows.
  • Familiarity with Python, C#, or any other programming language is advantageous.
  • Interest in geometry optimisation, environmental analysis, simulation tools, and digital fabrication.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and a strong team player with an interest in advancing computational design within architectural practice.
What We Offer
  • Mentorship and technical development from the Project Technology Lead, Computational BIM Specialist, and senior designers.
  • Exposure to high-profile international projects within a studio renowned for bold, human‑centred, and innovative design.
  • Opportunities to grow both technically and creatively in a supportive, research‑driven environment.
