About the role

AGR are working closely with our Aberdeen-based client to recruit a Competence Specialist to join its team.

This role will report directly into the Training and Competence Team lead and be responsible for providing efficient competence advisory services within the operated assets, technical and HSE function.

This is a key role that will maintain the latest standards, procedures and systems to ensure consistent best practice is deployed in the competence area satisfying country specific language legislation and client requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Support the development of site, business and portfolio competence assurance plans in a timely manner to identify technical and legislative competence needs
  • Conduct assessments and/or internal verification as required
  • Manage the competence assurance register and build effective relationships with assessors and internal verifiers assisting with standardisation meetings and ensuring they are following correct process
  • Manage Competence and Job Profiles in the Competence Management System and prepare and issue competence reports
  • Actively contribute to key competence strategies including competence frameworks
  • Maintain assessment programmes for Safety Critical, Operational Critical and Technical that will minimise risk to the safety of personnel, the integrity of the assets and the maintenance of the environment at both the offshore and onshore locations
  • Provide support for any audit and inspections that involve Competence
