Job description

Equans is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The role offers hybrid working, with travel required to London.

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial delivery of a significant FM service contract within EQUANS Sustainable Facilities Management Division and support other contracts in the wider portfolio as required. They will provide contract commercial management and profit improvement, risk and opportunity management along with focus on compliance. In addition they may be required to support growth within on the existing contracts as well as new business development initiatives to extend the suite of contracts in the region.

The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including external relationships with clients, suppliers and leadership and functions.

Holding collective responsibility with the commercial team to improve operations and deliver against financial plans.

What will you deliver?
  • Identifying and driving risk and opportunity management
  • Improvement in financial performance of the contract through continuous improvement
  • Management of administering variation/change control to capture revenue
  • Leading governance within the contracts to ensure compliance to the requirements of the contract and EQUANS’ own internal governance processes
  • Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other EQUANS colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc)
  • Enforcing commercial compliance
  • Rebutting unfounded contractual claims
  • Taking a key role in the management of contractual claims / disputes with clients
  • Ensure commercial governance to all subcontractors
  • Provide day-to-day commercial support to the account management teams
  • Building strong relationships with client representatives
  • Identifying and developing value-adding propositions to enhance the services offered/ delivered by EQUANS
  • Supporting the identification, management and mitigation of risks at all levels associated with such a significant bidding process
  • Leading governance within the bidding process to ensure that company requirements are complied with

Who are we looking for?
  • Suitable commercial experience, experience of FM contracts would be beneficial
  • Educated to degree/diploma level in either Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land)
  • Understanding and practical application of base English law applicable to contracts generally and the FM industry
  • Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment
  • Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
  • PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel

This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
