This is an exciting opportunity to join the Feeding and Eating Disorders Team. There are excellent opportunities to develop skills in working with children and their families across the full age range, and simultaneously develop skills, knowledge and expertise across a number of different areas of psychological practice including paediatrics, neurodevelopmental conditions and co-occurring mental health conditions.
You will be part of a diverse MDT, with opportunities to work with psychotherapy, systemic and family therapy, clinical nurse specialists, dieticians, psychiatrists, paediatricians, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
As a national specialist service, there are opportunities for teaching and training to improve knowledge, care and understanding for this cohort. We have regular reflective practice sessions, teaching, and academic research meetings with key researchers in the field, where there are opportunities to contribute to the evidence base.
The team sits within the Mental Health Psychology Stream within Psychological and Mental Health Services PAMHS. There are approximately 90 members of psychology staff, who participate in special interest groups (SIGs), an anti-racism practice group and other service wide initiatives. There are weekly clinical academic departmental presentations, opportunities to observe other teams and contribute to department and trust wide activities.
