An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full time Receptionist to join our pre‑assessment team within the Division of Surgery.

This is a highly diverse, demanding but rewarding role. The successful candidate will be a confident individual who thrives on challenge and a high workload. You must be organised, have the ability to work under your own initiative and able to prioritise a competing workload.

Applicants must have a flexible approach to working practices to meet the needs of the service and have administrative experience. The postholder will be required to provide a highly efficient administrative service for the Pre‑op Department.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a dedicated administrative team that supports patient care within the clinical outpatient environment and provides a focal point for receiving patients, relatives and carers attending for an outpatient appointment.

Education and Qualifications
  • 4 GCSE's grade D or above including mathematics and English or equivalent e.g. level 2 literacy and numeracy qualifications
  • NVQ 2 in Customer Care or administration experience including recent face to face working with the general public
Experience
  • Basic knowledge of the Receptionist role
  • Knowledge of the importance of confidentiality and data protection issues in a healthcare environment
  • Experience of working with the general public
