A dynamic manufacturing company in Sheffield is seeking a CAD/CAM Engineer Apprentice for a Level 3 apprenticeship program. This role involves designing and creating CAD models, programming CNC machines, and ensuring high-quality standards are met. Applicants should have GCSEs in English and Maths and ideally some experience with CAD/CAM software. The position offers hands-on experience and the chance to learn directly from industry professionals, alongside training at the AMRC Training Centre.
Simpson Patterns Limited are looking for a CAD/CAM Engineer Apprentice to complete a Level 3 Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician apprenticeship.
Working in a fast-paced department you will work on a range of projects, from large‑scale themed products to one‑off jigs. You will need to use your skills to complete the required workload to the customer specifications, which may vary by job. You will need an eye for detail and be committed to delivering high‑quality results. You will be able to work independently or within a team to achieve team targets. This position reports to the Technical Manager.
We are a growing manufacturing company with over 20‑years of experience. Our main area of work includes making patterns for foundries and the automotive industry, delivering nationwide. We provide scanning facilities for existing projects, or as part of our quality inspection process. We also offer larger‑scale theming products, such as the Bears of Sheffield in 2021.
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.
