Summary/Objective

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Sales team. This individual will play a critical role in sourcing, qualifying, and nurturing leads for our Sales executives. The ideal candidate brings at least 3+ years of experience in business development or lead generation, a strong understanding of financial markets or investment management, and a proven ability to identify and engage high-potential prospects. Success in this role will consist of generating a consistent flow of qualified leads for Sales executives, meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly pipeline goals, demonstrating curiosity about client needs and translating that into valuable connections and contributing to an overall culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions
  • Prospect and source leads through multiple channels, including LinkedIn, industry events, databases, and digital campaigns. Initiate contact with potential customers through responding to inquiries or cold calling to qualify them as sales leads for each territory.
  • Research and identify decision-makers and potential clients within target accounts, focusing on firms in investment management, banking, and related financial sectors.
  • Qualify leads by assessing business needs, budget, and decision‑making authority before passing them to Sales Representatives.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot). Schedule high quality lead meetings with salesperson in the territory.
  • Collaborate closely with VP, Business Development to develop tailored outreach strategies that improve conversion rates.
  • Develop and execute outreach campaigns (email, phone, and social) that align with STPs tone and brand.
  • Track and report on key metrics, including lead generation volume, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market shifts, and competitive intelligence to inform prospecting strategy.
  • Represent the company brand with professionalism and credibility in all client interactions.
  • Follow up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not purchase any goods or services.
  • Relationship building and collaboration – ability to work seamlessly with VP, Business Development and Relationship Managers to hand off leads smoothly.
  • Sales & Prospecting skills including pipeline management and lead qualification.
  • Data driven mindset – using performance metrics and insights to refine outreach strategies.
  • Tech‑savvy – comfortable leveraging automation tools, prospecting databases, and AI‑enhanced research platforms.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience in business development sales or lead generation within financial services, fintech or investment management
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry dynamics and buyer personas (e.g., institutional investors, asset managers, CFOs).
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for sales, be able to ask for the next meeting and suggest additional products or services to increase customer satisfaction and revenue
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and prospecting tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, etc.).
  • Self‑motivated and results‑oriented, with strong organizational and follow‑up skills.
