A leading healthcare provider in Carlisle is seeking a Breast Radiology Assistant to support the Breast Imaging team. The successful candidate will assist with breast imaging and interventional procedures while helping to ensure a positive patient experience. Ideal candidates will have a caring attitude, ability to work independently, and strong teamwork skills. Breast Radiology Assistant 37.5 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen within the Breast Radiology department as a Radiology Assistant.
The Breast Screening unit provides a screening and symptomatic service to women in North Cumbria aged between 50 and 70.
Women are offered breast screening appointments every 3 years at 2 sites in North Cumbria: Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital.
The department also provides imaging support for a one‑stop outpatient breast clinic in conjunction with the Breast Surgeon, performing image guided breast interventional procedures. Imaging is also provided for the follow‑up of post‑treatment patients and for family history screening.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as a member of the Breast Imaging team to assist in the provision of high quality breast imaging, assist the breast radiology team with interventional procedures, set trollies for procedures and assist with relevant admin duties.
The successful candidate will be based at Cumberland Infirmary, however cross‑site working may be required to meet the demands of the service.
Greet and escort women to the changing area and assist them to prepare for their X‑ray or ultrasound examination by giving clear instructions and helping with undressing/dressing where appropriate.
