Responsibilities
  • Design, development and delivery of sludge treatment processes, including Jacobs bioresources process technologies, throughout their lifecycle from strategic concept through feasibility, engineering, installation, acceptance testing, reliability, performance trials and asset management.
  • Strategy and consulting related to the Bioresources capability.
  • Environmental and economic regulation compliance.
  • FEED - Front-end engineering design of solids handling, municipal sewage sludge treatment digesters, pre-treatment processes and associated mechanical systems, plant and equipment.
  • Engineering analysis and modelling including CFD, thermal and heat transfer evaluations.
  • Detail design and systems integration of mechanical process equipment, storage tanks, mixing systems, heat exchangers and boilers.
  • Asset management and planning.
What you’ll need
  • Experience in bioresources, wastewater, chemical/oil and gas, composting, food waste, municipal solid waste, or food processing industries.
  • Biomass processing experience.
  • Design of digesters, pre-treatment or related equipment; design of solids handling processes, odour control, composting, drying, biosolids and aerobic/anaerobic processes.
  • Design of municipal sewage sludge treatment facilities.
  • Emissions to air mitigation; odour control and abatement systems.
  • Odour/methane emissions modelling and sampling.
  • Relevant academic qualifications, such as a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
