A leading utility company in Coventry is seeking a BI Report Developer to enhance customer satisfaction through insightful data reporting. This role involves developing, testing, and refining reports in Power BI, with an emphasis on technical skills in SQL and DAX. Due to growth within both Severn Trent and our BI team we are looking to recruit aBI Report Developer.
This role is integral to our operations, offering a unique opportunity to enhance customer satisfaction through impactful data insights.
As our BI Report Developer, you’ll take ownership of the full end‑to‑end report development process. Working closely with reporting partners and business requesters you will translate their needs into accurate, well‑defined specifications that guide your report builds.
You’ll provide reporting solutions to a range of business users — from operational teams to finance — and will be aligned to a specific business area, allowing you to build strong relationships and gain a deep understanding of their priorities. Whether supporting existing reports or designing new self‑serve dashboards, you will develop intuitive, user‑friendly outputs that make data easy to access and even easier to understand.
Your work will shape best practice across the organisation, ensuring stakeholders have the right information, at the right time, to deliver excellent service. You will design, build, test, and refine reports, agreeing timescales and delivery plans with the team to keep everything running smoothly. You’ll also create technical specifications, conduct functional unit testing, and investigate and resolve any issues with self‑serve reports to ensure everything remains accurate and reliable.
You’ll be based at ourSevern Trent Centre in Coventry and this role requires 37 hours a week.

We need someone technically minded with experience in SQL and DAX, essential skills in building reports in Power BI. You are a good communicator with strong planning and organisational skills.
