$50,000.00/hr - $70,000.00/hr

Job Description

The Bar/Grill & Catering Manager at SV is responsible for:

  • Oversee food and drink service, making sure everything looks good, tastes good, and meets our quality standards.
  • Handle all transactions correctly and follow company guidelines.
  • Order, coordinate, setup and execute all park and ice rink caterings.
  • Make sure the bar, kitchen, and catering areas are ready to open each day and run smoothly during service.
  • Actively work and/or assist your department as needed.
  • Adjust staffing and production levels depending on how busy it is each day.
  • Keep track of costs and help control expenses.
  • Keep food, beverages, and supplies stocked by ordering when needed and checking inventory.
  • Lead staff meetings, train team members, and complete required reports.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established SVAP policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Fill in for the Foods Operations Manager during vacations or days off.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • REQUIRED: Managerial Food Service experience in a bar/grill & catering.
  • Current BASSET license holder mandatory.
  • Ability to teach, manage and operate in a hands-on food environment.
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale system and back-end abilities.
  • Ability to create/design new products and execute.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • On track for a High school diploma or GED highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold a Managers Illinois Food Sanitation Certificate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; frequently required to walk, taste or smell; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include Distance Vision and Depth Perception.

Work environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock.
