  • Experience in other standards (DMRB, Eurocodes etc.) desirable.

Job description

We are looking to hire an Associate Engineer in our Rail team in our new Stanstead office.

Main Purpose of the Job

As part of our Rail team based in the Stansted Office, you will manage and lead a design team in the delivery of projects to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets, and manage the client relationship for those projects. As an Associate, you will be responsible for the technical and commercial success of your projects and the performance of your team. You will support the wider business delivering targets for operational performance, and growth in revenue and team skills and capabilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership on projects, and support the wider rail team in delivering projects and growing the team
  • Line management responsibility for a team (future requirement) - responsible for employee development through the Performance Development Review (PDR) process. Ensuring Training Plans are completed and followed up as appropriate
  • Project Focus - provide technical leadership on Small & large complex projects performing the role of overall technical lead, design lead or check lead as required. The role may encompass undertaking project management duties.
  • Ensure the services you lead or provide are delivered on time, on budget and to the required quality.
  • Co‑ordination of multi‑disciplinary resources and ensuring staff capabilities are sufficient
  • Business development, technical and financial bid contributions - support in the preparation of bids, ensuring they reflect client requirements and are prepared and submitted in compliance with PF procedures and incorporate legal and commercial reviews as appropriate.
  • Mobilise resources from supporting teams and departments as required
  • Develop and maintain departmental systems and procedures
  • Promote close working relationships across the group and the Civils Structures team
  • Business Awareness ensuring focus through Director Liaison
Qualifications
