About this opportunity

We have a new vacancy for an Electrical Assembly Team Leader to be based in Wortley, reporting to the Assembly Senior Manager.

Your mission in CMbE

The role will be responsible for providing leadership to the Assembly/Electrical team and managing the work of all staff in the department. The Electrical Assembly Team Leader will ensure that all machine electrical wiring and associated assemblies will be safe, uniformed and compliant with required standards, ensuring that production targets are met in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

Essential Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills, capable of motivating and guiding Electrical Assembly and Sub-Assembly. The candidate should be able to coach and develop their team members, as well as delegate tasks efficiently such as ensuring that the team have the drawings and documentation available to carry out their duties. Experience of using MRP and ERP systems is essential, to be able to develop production aids and documentation as and when required. The ideal candidate should have strong problem‑solving abilities and a pragmatic approach towards challenges and problems in order to excel in this role, along with the confidence to resolve issues promptly and elevate when necessary.

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail to be able to work with complex schematic diagrams, control panel assembly and connection and a mixture of low voltage electrical control systems and supplies. The candidate should possess a good understanding of Basic Lean Principles, Just in Time, Cellular Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping, along with the ability to implement and monitor 6S standards through daily audits.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills to allow them to produce clear reports, deliver presentations, and liaise effectively across all levels of the business. The candidate will bring proven experience in planning and executing departmental schedules to achieve productivity targets. Flexibility to work across different areas and train others as needed is important, as is the ability to collaborate with other shifts and ensure smooth handovers.

About you

The successful candidate should ideally hold a HNC or equivalent in a relevant Electrical Assembly and testing or management discipline. The candidate should be a forward‑thinking individual who has a passion for excelling in what they do. Additionally, they should be a supportive, flexible team player with the ability to drive and coach their team, demonstrate strong people‑management skills even in challenging situations, and bring proven management experience. Programming knowledge of Alan Bradley and Siemens is desirable.
