Job description

Overview

Apprentice Electro-Mechanical (Multiskilled) Technician – Department: Early Careers; Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time; Location: Cloud Hill Quarry, Derby; Compensation: £21,258 - £23,317 / year.

As an apprentice, you will earn as you learn, combining college study for a Level 3 apprenticeship with industry experience at Breedon, a leading independent construction materials group in the UK. You will attend college on a day-release basis for 3 years, with the college choice (Loughborough or Derby) depending on your residence. You will study to become a multi-skilled engineer and complete the electrical wiring regulations qualification (18th Edition).

Responsibilities

• You will support quarry and cement site production.
• You will dismantle, examine, replace, and reassemble mechanical and electrical systems and components.
• You will service and maintain equipment.
• You will work on yellow machinery and equipment that handles dust; there will be much to learn.
• You will be part of a close-knit team with ongoing support and a collaborative induction.

Qualifications

• At least five GCSEs, grades 5-9/A-C, with a 6/B in Maths.
• A demonstrable interest in engineering — via education and/or work experience.
• A full UK driving license.
