We are a well-established Veterinary Group with friendly branch surgeries across Fife, Kinross and Edinburgh, supported by our main hospital in Dunfermline, Fife. Our wonderful team is committed to providing the highest standard of care to pets and exceptional service to their owners.

We are currently looking for an Animal Care Assistant who brings enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a genuine passion for animal welfare. This role involves working across both our main hospital and our Dunfermline Healthy Pets branch, offering a varied and engaging workload each day.

About the role

The role is busy and hands-on, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals, thrives in a team environment, and feels confident multitasking and using their initiative. Your daily work will involve supporting our Vets, Nurses, and Hydrotherapists in a clinical setting.

Duties include:

  • Caring for in-patients
  • Cleaning kennels and equipment
  • Handling animals
  • Assisting with basic pharmacy tasks.
Every day brings something new, and there’s plenty of opportunity to develop your skills.

While previous experience in a veterinary practice or as a VCA would be an advantage, it isn’t essential as full training will be provided for the right person. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn.

About the rota

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week over four days (Monday-Friday), with some weekend and evening shifts on a rota basis.
