Job description

Are you looking for your next opportunity to use your knowledge of financial crime and AML regulations to make a real difference? Do you have SAR and/ or EDD experience? If so, we may have the role for you!

Our friendly but busy financial crime team works in partnership with our business to protect Yorkshire Building Society and its members from financial crime. In this exciting role, as an AML Specialist, you’ll play an important part in doing just that by providing robust and critical analysis of our strategic priorities and making sure we meet all of our regulatory and statutory obligations.

The role is full time 35 hours per week with flexible working patterns to be agreed between Monday - Friday 8am-8pm plus Saturday 8am-1pm on a rota basis.

The role is based in our Bradford head office. Once onboarding and training are completed, the role is then hybrid a mix of 2 days working remotely and 3 days per week in the office.

About the role

As an AML Specialist it’s about following operating procedures, making sure that the decisions we make are aligned with our risk appetite and the current economic situation, and providing specialist technical advice across our business. You’ll be responsible for -

  • Completing enhanced due diligence checks on high-risk customers and investigating any suspicious activity

  • Supporting implementation plans throughout the AML team

  • Working to agreed quality targets and service level agreements while focusing on delivering an exceptional service

About you
  • We’re looking for an experienced AML Specialist with a background in analysing suspicious activity and a good knowledge of financial crime and AML regulations

  • An ICA Advanced AML Certificate or equivalent qualification would be useful, but what’s most important is that you’re committed to building your own skills and knowledge in this fast-moving area

  • You’ll be comfortable making big decisions, and with strong communication and relationship building skills, you’ll be more than ready to engage and collaborate with colleagues at all levels

  • SAR and/ or EDD experience is important for this position
