STS Aviation Services is hiring an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our growing UK MRO operation in Newquay. This is an opportunity to play a key role at our Newquay Hangar and be part of the next chapter in STS Aviation Services’ continued growth across the United Kingdom.

Position Overview

As an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will support major structural repair and modification activity on live aircraft, working to exacting standards in a fast‑paced maintenance environment. This role requires precision, ownership of work, and a strong understanding of aircraft structures and manufacturer documentation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of major structural repairs and aircraft modifications
  • Remove major aircraft structural sections while stress jacked
  • Work to fine tolerances and maintain high workmanship standards
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping within the hangar environment
  • Adhere to all company and manufacturer procedures
  • Implement aircraft modifications using approved drawings and procedures
Skills and Abilities
  • Completed aircraft engineering apprenticeship within production or live aircraft environments
  • Ideally five years of live aircraft and structures experience
  • Demonstrable experience within an aircraft modification or production environment
  • Experience implementing and carrying out aircraft component modifications
  • Proven ability to read and interpret manufacturer drawings and Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs)
  • Excellent hand skills and attention to detail
  • Takes full ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Eligible to work and live in the United Kingdom
