Academic Learning Mentor

Salary: Grade 8, Point 20 - 23: £16,936 - £17,890 pro-rata (£32,597 - £34,434 FTE)

Contract: Term time only + 2 INSET Days

Term: One year (in the first instance)

Hours: Part time - 22.5 hours per week over 3 days

Starting date: February 2026, or by negotiation

Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher: SENDCO & Interventions

The school is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and positive Academic Learning Mentor to join the team, ideally starting in January 2026. This post is focused on providing targeted academic support to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working with very small groups or on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students across a variety of subject areas within KS3 and KS4.
  • Deliver tailored interventions to meet individual learning needs.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with learners to foster confidence and progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and colleagues to ensure a consistent and inclusive approach.
What We’re Looking For
  • Ability to establish excellent rapport with students and work well within a team.
  • Enthusiasm for helping learners succeed and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Prior experience is helpful but not essential, as a comprehensive training programme will be provided.
  • Flexible start and finish times may be available.
