An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highlymotivated individual to join our SEQOHS accredited service based at BarnsleyHospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Barnsley Hospitals Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team is leading innovation in the management of attendance and health and wellbeing at work. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join our dynamic, forward-thinking MSK team.

This post will provide specialised physiotherapyservices for Barnsley Hospital staff with musculoskeletal conditions, and workautonomously to assess, treat, and manage staff referred through OccupationalHealth. They will collaborate with Occupational Health professionals, HR,Health & Safety, and managers to advise on fitness for work andreturn-to-work plans. Responsibilities will include conducting workplaceassessments to prevent or reduce musculoskeletal risks for staff, patients, andothers.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a highly innovative Occupational Health and Wellbeing service, helping to improve staff health, prevent injury and enhance the overall wellbeing of the Barnsley Hospital workforce.

Main duties of the job

In this autonomous role, youwill provide expert, evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment forTrust employees with musculoskeletal conditions. Working collaboratively withthe Occupational Health and Wellbeing MSK Service, you will help shape anddeliver high-quality physiotherapy interventions that support staff to remainhealthy, safe and able to work.

Key Responsibilities include:

Independently assess, diagnose and treat employeesincluding those withcomplex MSK presentationsand develop individualised treatment andrehabilitation plans.

Triage and manage referrals, maintaining accurate, up-to-date clinicalrecords and effective communication with the Occupational Health team.

Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical information to provideaccurate diagnoses, prognoses, intervention plans and discharge summaries.

Use advanced clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment techniquesgrounded in current evidence-based practice.

Work closely with the Moving and Handling Team to advise managers onworkplace adaptations and support safe working practices.

Motivate, persuade and support patients to achieve rehabilitation goals,overcoming barriers such as language, culture, expectations and anxiety.

Provide advice, teaching and guidance to relatives, carers and otherhealth professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Maintain excellent manual, sensory and palpatory skills and ensure safeuse of all physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment.
