Job summary
A community-focused organization in Scotland seeks an experienced Chair to lead its board of trustees. The role involves providing strategic leadership and fostering an inclusive environment. Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chair or senior governance role is required.
- Experience in engaging a wide range of stakeholders is beneficial.
- Lived experience of parenting is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Lead the board of trustees to ensure strategic governance.
- Drive the strategy for father-inclusive practices.
- Represent the organization effectively in various forums.

The Chair is fundamental to our success. The role provides critical leadership, drives strategy, and enables advocacy for crucial funding and partnerships.
By ensuring robust governance, sound decision-making, and effective supervision of senior staff, the Chair stabilises and protects Dads Rock, ensuring we maximise our impact for Dads, children, and families across Scotland.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience as a Chair, board lead or senior governance role
- effective and inclusive leadership skills;
- strategic perspective and understanding of the environment in which we work;
- capacity to engage with and influence a wide range of people; and
- Commitment to the overall aims and objects of Dads Rock.
Lived experience of parenting advantageous
What will you be doing?
You’ll need to lead our board of trustees - Currently a team of 8 with wide experience including banking, HR, third sector, lawyer and marketing professional.
Dads Rock's ambition is to create system change for father inclusive practice with health and social settings where focus is traditionally on mums only. We want services engaging with families to ask the man about his mental health and wellbeing, taking away the stigma and giving him an opportunity to ask for help.
