HVDC Hub Operations Manager – Siemens Energy

A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Operations Manager for the HVDC Services Hub, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and profitable high-voltage service operations. You will oversee all aspects of operational performance, resource management, and customer delivery while ensuring alignment with Siemens Energy’s governance, financial, and asset management objectives. This role requires strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and strong operational discipline to maintain world‑class service for customers in the transmission and distribution sector.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Lead and develop the HVDC Operations Hub team to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget, meeting or exceeding EBIT and margin targets.
  • Oversee contract execution, reviews, governance compliance, and operational processes to ensure consistent and effective project delivery.
  • Act as the primary customer interface, managing relationships, resolving issues, and ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and performance enhancement across all hub activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with Siemens Energy EQHS policies, Zero Harm principles, and HV safety rules, including supporting SAP authorisation processes.
  • Manage project risk, financial forecasting, and resource planning in collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and other hub managers.
  • Lead asset management activities in line with ISO 55000, including AMP development, risk management, lifecycle planning, and performance reporting.
What You Bring
  • HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline; a management qualification (Diploma/Masters) is desirable.
  • IOSH Occupational Health and Safety certification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management or operational leadership role, ideally within the Electricity Transmission and Distribution sector.
  • Proven experience in project and contract management, including SAP responsibilities.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to forecast and achieve budgetary targets.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills with experience managing customers and suppliers.
  • In‑depth knowledge of CDM regulations, health and safety legislation, and risk management processes.
  • Experience managing HV operations and an understanding of primary and secondary electrical maintenance and construction requirements.
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver continuous improvement, staff development, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
