An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance team based in our Madrid office, to enhance our control environment.

A newly created role within the structure, it will provide a fantastic opportunity to have a positive impact within the finance team, the broader operational teams and with external clients.

The role will oversee a small team including transactional finance and take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of all accounting across our Iberian entities, from month end management accounts through to tax filings and annual statutory accounting.

The role reports to the Iberian Finance Director, with a dotted reporting line to the European Controller (who is based in Manchester, UK).

• Oversee all accounting functions, including revenue recognition, cost accounting, and inventory accounting.
• Ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations (including tax compliance) and lead the external audit process.
• Take responsibility for the balance sheet reconciliation process.
• Improve accounting systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise, mentor, and motivate the finance and accounting team.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Identify and propose solutions for financial risks.
• Work closely with the VP Finance Controller (Europe) to ensure alignment with Group policies, strategy and deadlines.

• Accountant with significant experience and audit certification preferred.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with minimum 5 years within established audit practice.
• Experience in multi‑site environments. Sports, hospitality, retail industries would be desirable, but not essential.
• Proven track record on enhancing controls and driving compliance.
• Role requires candidates with leadership experience to support the ongoing development of a team.
• A high level of spoken and written English.

• High energy, strong will and ambition to learn and work on new things.
• Demonstration of ability and track record of delivering results.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
• Strong communication skills in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus but not essential.
• Problem solving skills and critical thinking skills within a global enterprise set up.
• High degree of comfort in managing multiple assignments.
