Job summary

A youth arts organization in Scotland is inviting individuals aged 16–24 to join the Youth Board. This role involves participating in online meetings, attending in-person workshops, and leading creative community projects. Members will work toward an accredited qualification in creative producing and theatre-making, developed in association with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This is an opportunity to make an impact in community theatre while developing valuable skills.

Job description

Wonder Fools: Youth Board Call‑Out – opening for individuals aged 16–24 in Scotland to join the youth board and work toward an accredited qualification.

Closing date: 9 January 2026, 11 pm.

What does the Youth Board do?
  • Change the way theatre is made with and for young people.
  • Have a say in how Positive Stories for Negative Times is run.
  • Make creative things happen in their own communities.
As a Youth Board Member you will
  • Take part in online meetings every fortnight on Mondays, plus occasional extra sessions with guest writers or artists.
  • Join in‑person workshops and sharings during the year (with support toward travel costs).Work toward an accredited SCQF qualification in creative producing, theatre‑making and facilitation, developed with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
  • Develop skills in dramaturgy, theatre‑making, play reading, producing, co‑creation and asset‑based community development.
  • Collaborate with commissioned playwrights and artists to read, workshop and shape new plays.
  • Stage your own version of one of the PSFNT plays, collaborating with the Wonder Fools core team and associates.
  • Be paid to design and lead creative projects in your own community, working with local groups of young people.
Time commitment
  • Fortnightly online meetings on Mondays (early evening).
  • Occasional extra online sessions with writers and artists.
  • A small number of in‑person workshops/festivals each year.
