Location

We have an opportunity for a Waste Resolution Jetting Technician to work across the Knostrop area in West Yorkshire where you will join our Customer Field Services department at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Work Type

These are permanent opportunities, working rotational 4 on 4 off pattern of 40 hours. This will include sacrifices, late, early and weekend work. You will need a full valid driving licence in addition to a LGV category C and ideally a DCPC qualification (no more than 6 points).

Where you fit in

As our Waste Resolution Jetting Technician, you will be;

  • Part of a two-person team working within a geographical team to improve customer service and sewer system performance. You will be responsible for ensuring a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment adecuada whilst ensuring quality follow-on work is raised in accordance with our standards and specifications.
  • Delivering a “first time fix” / same day solution to customer and environmental problems and to deliver the asset plan for sewer maintenance to eliminate escapes, ensuring Health & Safety working practices and procedures areИст always complied with.
  • Primarily responding to Internal Flooding and Restricted Toilet Use (RTU) customer problems to resolve the immediate cause and to complete a thorough investigation to resolve the root cause and achieve a first-time fix / same day solution, this will include the use of IT systems to collate information and relay accurate feedback including plans and photographs.
  • Safely, proactively, and reactively maintain the sewers to promote and implement solutions which resolve and/or prevent a sewage escape (flooding and pollution) from occurring from the sewers and to ensure no repeats take place.
  • Work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and our contracted partners on site to resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network.
What skills & qualifications you will need
  • Full valid driving licence in addition to a LGV category C, ideally with DCPC driving licence and digi card (No more than 6 points).
  • Experience operating a high-pressured jetting and vacuumation vehicle and carrying out a range of manual handling duties including heavy lifting of manhole covers and operating heavy equipment involving high pressure water jetting systems and sewer cameras. A strong Health & Safety background and competence in the use of IT systems are essential.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-related role with face-to-face communication with customers is essential.
  • Ability to think through problems and work with others to solve them, finding faults and diagnosing the root cause of an issue.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to capture, evidence and feedback information, influence outcomes and make decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort liaising with operational teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Flexible attitude to your work as you will be working a variety of rotas in the role to cover our working window.
  • Medical criteria passing: strict tests including BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing and Spirometry to ensure safety in hazardous environments.
  • For Roles requiring Licence entitlement C1 or above: an Initial Basic Standard Eyesight Assessment, an initial Driving Assessment using the category of vehicle that the role requires, and further assessments as and when required. Regular Basic Standard Eyesight Assessment.
  • Desirable: previous jet van operation experience or experience driving liquid loads and a basic understanding of theالكتر sewer network (full training will be provided).
