A leading global insurance group is seeking to hire a W&I Underwriter as it continues to expand its transactional risk offering - the business has a strong international platform, deep carrier relationships, and an ambitious growth strategy.
This is a unique opportunity for a corporate lawyer with first‑class private M&A experience to transition into underwriting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, structuring, and underwriting W&I policies on a broad range of cross‑border transactions. Working closely with brokers, advisors, and deal teams, this role will place you at the centre of high‑value international M&A activity.
You will underwrite W&I insurance policies for complex, high‑value transactions, reviewing transaction documents, diligence reports, and deal structures to identify and assess risk. In addition, you will take the lead on underwriting projects while managing and developing strong relationships with brokers, law firms, and clients.
The ideal candidate will be a UK‑qualified lawyer with 3-6 years' PQE gained at a recognised international or City firm. You will bring strong private M&A experience with a proven track record of leading deals and managing projects. As a confident communicator, you will be able to engage credibly with senior deal professionals, while demonstrating the ambition, proactivity, and drive needed to build a successful career in an M&A‑driven market.
This is a first‑class opportunity for a corporate lawyer seeking to leverage their deal experience in a dynamic underwriting role. The group offers a highly competitive compensation package, exposure to marquee transactions, and a supportive environment with clear progression opportunities.
