Job summary

A local charity organization is seeking a Treasurer to oversee financial affairs, ensure sustainability, and provide guidance to the Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance or accounting and a commitment to the charity's mission, dedicating approximately 10-12 hours per month. The role may require attendance at monthly board meetings, either in person or via Zoom.

Qualifications

  • Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (qualified or part-qualified accountant desirable but not essential).
  • A clear understanding of financial management and reporting.
  • A commitment to the charity's mission and values.
  • Willingness to dedicate roughly 10-12 hours/month to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an overview of the charity’s financial affairs.
  • Ensure proper records are kept and appropriate financial procedures are followed.
  • Produce regular financial reports and present them at trustee meetings.
  • Assist in budget planning and annual reporting.
  • Liaise with external accountants or auditors where necessary.

Role: Treasurer

As Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the charity’s finances, ensuring financial sustainability and transparency. You\'ll work closely with the Board of Trustees and provide advice and guidance on financial matters.

Frequency & commitment

We would ask you to be present at board meetings once a month. Either via zoom or in person. Hours might vary per week but you can choose what days/times you work each week. Roughly 10/12 hours per month.
