Job description

A charity based in Uckfield at the Luxford Centre for people aged 55 and over, providing outings and regular activities each week.

About this opportunity

The Luxford Centre 55+ club are seeking cooks to help run their weekly lunchtime meetups. No professional experience is required for this role, just good home cooking!

They usually cater for a maximum of 24 members, and you’ll either be working alone or in pairs. There is no age limit for this role, though a hygiene certificate is needed if you’re working alone. It’s a friendly supportive atmosphere where we’ll help you to learn the ropes, so you won’t be thrown in at the deep end!

The role is for Thursday mornings once or twice a month, and you’ll be volunteering for the hours you can give, though never more than four hours a shift. Usually a shift is from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

These weekly lunchtime meetups are a wonderful chance for members to socialise over a meal, and a great opportunity for anyone who is a dab hand in the kitchen to put a smile on others faces with those skills. This is also a good position for volunteers who don’t have a lot of free time but still wish to help out where they can.
