Veterinary Surgeon – Bangor, Co. Down

Salary up to £63,000 DOE | Relocation Allowance up to £5,000 | Welcome Bonus up to £5,000

At Rathgael Garden Lodge Vets, collaboration, care, and community are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team, with the flexibility to work full-time or part-time across our well-established small animal clinics in Bangor, Holywood, and Stormont.

Role and responsibilities
  • Caseload includes mainly cats and dogs, with occasional rabbit, small furry, or injured wildlife.
  • Provide consultations focused on continuity of care and build strong client relationships.
  • Perform surgeries including routine procedures, abdominal cases, and a wide range of dentals.
  • Collaborate with and be supported by excellent referral links.
  • Work primarily in Bangor with opportunities to support other branches (Holywood and Stormont).
Facilities and team

Our Bangor practice is bright, spacious, and well-equipped with X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and a separate dental suite with dental X-ray. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of six vets, six RVNs, and 12 support staff. We have certificate holders in General Practice, Small Animal Surgery, and Orthopaedics, and we’re proud to mentor and support further qualifications. As an accredited training practice, we’re equally committed to developing the next generation of RVNs.

Flexibility and working patterns

Full-time role is 40 hours across five days with just 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9–12). There’s no out-of-hours or on-call, and we’re happy to shape working patterns around your lifestyle.
