Job summary

A leading F1 racing team in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Senior Stress Engineer. The role involves ensuring structural components meet performance specifications, conducting analysis, and improving methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering and significant experience in F1. Strong knowledge of carbon structures and FEA tools is essential, together with a proactive mindset.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Stress Engineer to be responsible for ensuring that structural car components comply with the design and performance specifications defined by Technical Management. The role involves structural analysis, design support, validation, and service‑life follow‑up, and contributing to continuous improvement of stress methodologies.

Responsibilities

The Senior Stress Engineer will:

  • Ensure structural car components comply with design and performance specifications defined by Technical Management.
  • Perform structural analysis, design support, validation, and service‑life follow‑up.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of stress methodologies.
Areas that play to your strengths
  • Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering master’s degree.
  • Strong, broad understanding of carbon and metal structures.
  • Strong knowledge of theory behind FEA.
  • Excellent usage and knowledge of FE pre/processing (Altair Hypermesh/OptiStruct, Abaqus).
  • Previous knowledge of Siemens‑NX is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of current manufacturing processes (CNC and DMLS) and material science.
  • Ability to work with the team, external suppliers and colleagues.
  • Extensive stress analysis experience at a senior level.
  • Previous engineering experience in F1.
  • Initiative, proactive and innovative mindsetli>
  • Availability to travel up to one week per month or 10‑20%
