Job description
Overview

Join our team as a Utility Surveyor at Vision Survey Ltd. Location: Crawley (Utilities - South). We work on large UK construction projects with offices in the Midlands & South-East. Vision Survey aims to be the number one supplier of Engineering and Utility Services in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Working with modern survey methods and survey devices such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Accurately and consistently record underground utility assets and manhole inspection reports.
  • Provide the Project Managers and CAD Operators with completed utility survey reports in line with Vision Survey and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to deliver to client expectations.
  • Assist with detailed field and office surveying assignments.
  • Check the quality of information collected onsite and ensure successful transition to deliverables.
  • Ensure that all survey kit is maintained and well-kept.
  • Take responsibility for other surveyors and junior team members on site and in the office.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and effectively prioritise workloads.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate flexibility, and contribute positively to the team.
  • Experience using electromagnetic location and ground penetrating radar, as well as GPS/GNSS systems.
  • Solid understanding of industry practices and standards related to utility detection (e.g., PAS 128 and TSA).
  • Working knowledge of surveying equipment, including GPR and electromagnetic location detection tools.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites across the country.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact with clients on-site.
  • CCTV/Drainage operatives who are eager to learn surveying skills will also be considered.
  • A clean and valid manual driving licence is necessary.

  • Topographical Surveying Experience
  • QCF Level 3 or Level 5 for utility mapping
