Position Overview

Konker is recruiting for an Urban Designer to join an award‑winning architectural practice based in central London. The practice has three studios across the UK and employs roughly 70 staff members. The London office currently has 5 employees and can grow to 12.

Team

The London office is led by a Design Director with an Urban Design background and includes three Urban Designers and a Graphic Designer.

Project Work

The practice works on residential development projects, including care homes, retirement villages, small‑to‑large housing schemes, master planning, and urban design. It also handles commercial schemes and is expanding into this sector.

Role and Responsibilities

The Urban Designer will develop urban design, master plans, feasibility studies, design strategies, and related documents. Responsibilities include reviewing and improving existing development designs, providing advice on current projects, and producing design and access statements.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp is required. Hand drawing skills are advantageous.

Compensation

Salary ranges from £33,000 to £43,000, based on experience. The role includes regular mentoring and support.
