A regional healthcare provider in Croydon is seeking a Trust Grade SpR in General Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology. This role offers comprehensive training under consultant supervision, with responsibilities including managing outpatient clinics and supporting the Diabetes & Endocrinology service. Ideal candidates will have full GMC registration, relevant specialty experience, and strong communication skills. The desirable salary ranges from £65,048 to £73,992 annually plus London weighting.
This post will run parallel to our current SPR grade role, and will offer identical opportunities to take part in consultant supervised training relating to both the general medical and diabetes/endocrinology curriculum. It would ideally suit a candidate looking to progress into the speciality at SPR level who wishes to gain more experience in it.
The successful candidate would undertake two clinics per week (one in diabetes and another in endocrinology) with the chance to participate in sub-speciality work as listed above, together with helping support speciality based in-reach work, and providing on-going support to other team members on our general medical ward. In addition, they would be encouraged to attend sub-speciality clinics, and to support local research/audit initiatives. At present, the post-holder will not be expected to participate in general medical acute on-call services - however, should the successful applicant wish to be part of our current 18 man medical SPR rota for such on-calls, it will be possible to arrange this, with appropriate remuneration.
Work closely with registrar grade colleagues to support the Diabetes & Endocrine service in providing high quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
Help support the Diabetes Specialist Nursing team within the acute Trust in providing help and support to inpatients with diabetes related problems.
Carry out outpatient clinics as listed above with consultant supervision
Participation in and leadership of ward based MDT, including review, assessment and treatment of acute medical inpatients, including onward speciality referral as appropriate.
