Job description
Transport Planner / Senior Transport Planner – Transport South (London)

We are seeking a full‑time Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner for our Transport South Team based in London. This role will deliver a wide variety of interesting projects for private and public sector clients.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, transport chapters for environmental impact assessment, and other development related transport reports.
  • Prepare transport studies for public sector clients.
  • Undertake site visits and attend client meetings.
  • Provide client liaison support and contribute to proposal development.
Requirements
  • Experience in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other transport related documents required in support of planning applications.
  • Experience analyzing, collating and interpreting data.
  • Knowledge of highway design principles relevant to site access design.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and GIS software.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of software packages such as TRICS, Junction 10 and LinSIG.
  • Understanding of the UK planning process and its integration.
  • Drive to succeed and willingness to get involved.
  • Excellent communication skills, confidence to liaise with clients and team members.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis, reports and drawings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or Masters in transport planning, civil engineering, geography or related subject.
  • Membership of a professional body such as ICE or CIHT.
