  • Lead software asset audits, license reconciliations, and compliance assessments across key software vendors, leveraging vendor‑specific expertise and internal support functions where needed.
  • Analyse vendor agreements and entitlements to interpret terms, obligations, usage metrics, and compliance requirements, identifying risks and optimisation opportunities.
  • Partner with procurement, IT, and finance teams to integrate SAM processes into sourcing, budgeting, and operational practices.
  • Develop and maintain SAM frameworks, policies, and controls that ensure accurate software asset data, lifecycle visibility, and audit readiness.
  • Manage vendor relationships and license negotiations, ensuring favourable commercial outcomes and proactive compliance management.
  • Support audit preparation and defence, coordinating required documentation, data, and stakeholder responses.
  • Conduct SAM maturity assessments, identifying areas for improvement and leading remediation or optimisation initiatives.
  • Coordinate project activities, milestones, and reporting across multiple concurrent SAM initiatives.
  • Prepare executive‑level reports and recommendations, providing insight into software spend, compliance posture, and strategic opportunities for cost reduction.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or related enterprise governance disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models, compliance frameworks, and audit methodologies across major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, SAP).
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing SAM processes and governance frameworks within large or complex organisations.
  • Experience conducting or overseeing software licence audits and reconciliations, including audit preparation and defence.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to engage and influence senior (Director/C‑level) stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for interpreting complex licensing data, contracts, and entitlements.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, balancing priorities and ensuring consistent delivery.
  • Proficiency with SAM tools and platforms such as Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro, or equivalent.
  • Experience collaborating with finance, procurement, and IT operations to embed SAM practices and drive cost optimisation.
