About this opportunity

We have a new vacancy for a Technical Systems Engineer to be based in Shipley, reporting to the IT Systems Manager.

Your mission in CMbE

The role will be responsible for supporting and continuously improving business systems across technical domains, with a strong focus on engineering and manufacturing operations. The Technical Systems Engineer will lead and contribute to systems projects, develop macros and automation scripts within CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments, and deliver effective solutions that will enhance productivity and system integration between CAD, PLM and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Essential Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will provide technical support for engineering and manufacturing systems, ensuring high availability and performance. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills to lead and support system‑related projects from planning through to implementation, and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who strives for continuous improvement and will contribute to the maintenance and evolution of technical standards across the business. The candidate will use planning and organisation to develop and deliver training, documentation, and user support to facilitate system adoption and effective usage.

About you

Candidates must hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. The successful candidate will have experience following lean methodologies such as DMAIC within project management. Additionally, they will have experience with system administration, and be able to demonstrate knowledge of CAD Software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Siemens NX. The ideal candidate must have a good knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and an understanding of MES, with a familiarity of PLM systems. Experience working with Low Code platforms, network configuration and troubleshooting, and experience with version control (Git) is desirable but not essential.
