Join to apply for the Technical Services Manager role at Equans UK & Ireland.

Overview

Join Equans Embedded Generation, a leading energies and services contractor within the Bouygues group. We design, construct, operate and maintain buildings and critical infrastructure, with a focus on embedded energy capacity across the UK. We are seeking a Technical Services Manager to lead the on-site maintenance team and support Operations Manager in delivering safe, compliant and reliable plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all maintenance on-site (reactive and planned) for plant within the Generating Station, including steam boilers, water treatment, gas-fired CHP engines, medical air compressors, chilled water, standby generators and ancillary equipment.
  • Line manage the on-site maintenance technicians (max. 5/6) and supervise operations staff; act as deputy for the Operations Manager when required.
  • Ensure plant compliance with statutory requirements, industry best practice, and health, safety and environmental standards; maintain CAFM system records and support audit readiness.
  • Lead maintenance planning and execution using CAFM; manage risk and safety through safe systems of work and PSSR/process safety activities.
  • Coordinate spares procurement, budget adherence and supplier liaison; manage site documentation and procedures.
  • Contribute to safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction metrics; escalate safety and emergency response as needed.
  • Maintain data quality and records for maintenance activities in the electronic document management system.
Qualifications and skills
  • Minimum HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Industrial steam boiler operations and maintenance experience (BOAS desirable).
  • NEBOSH Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely or similar safety qualification (desirable).
  • Experience in Operation & Maintenance of utility plant including generation equipment.
  • Leadership skills to balance financial, technical and people priorities.
  • Good presentation and communication skills; IT proficiency with management systems.
  • Flexible, proactive and customer/employee-focused attitude.
