A family-owned engineering firm in Bath is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead innovation and technical direction for their 'Crane of the Future' portfolio. This role encompasses project leadership, advanced technical support, and ensuring high-quality standards in engineering and safety. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in technical product management and a strong background in engineering principles needed to evaluate technologies and solutions. The position offers flexibility with a mix of office-based work and site visits, aligning with growth and modernization strategies.
We are a family-owned business based across the North East of England, with over 30 years of experience in the overhead crane engineering industry. We specialize in providing crane installation, repair, and maintenance services to a wide range of clients across the North East of England. We are currently looking for an Technical Product Manager with a strong industry background to join our team and help us continue to provide our clients with high-quality services. This is a very exciting time to join the company with big growth plans, driven by our Crane of the Future technology. We have branches across the North East, so location is flexible. Expectation is that the role will blend office and site work depending on current requirements. There will be some travel but limited based on client needs.
The Technical Product Manager is a strategic and highly technical role responsible for driving forward the company’s innovation agenda, supporting advanced technical challenges, and overseeing key product and service developments—especially within the “crane of the future” portfolio.
This role sits completely separate from routine technical operations and focuses instead on company-wide technical direction, complex project scoping, product leadership, and ensuring Towne Lifting maintains the highest engineering and safety standards. The position is primarily office-based, with site visits conducted as needed for surveys, complex troubleshooting, and project support.
