At Amber Labs, we are a cutting-edge UK and European technology consultancy that prioritises empowering autonomy, promoting experimentation, and facilitating rapid learning to provide exceptional value to our clients. Our company culture is centred around collaboration, where all colleagues, regardless of their role, work together to minimise risk and shorten delivery times. Our team consists of highly-skilled cross-functional consultants, analysts, and support staff.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager with strong technical exposure to oversee the successful delivery of integration projects within a public sector environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working closely with engineering teams building complex integrations, with a focus on APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices.

You will work in a fast-paced Agile delivery setting, ensuring that cross-functional teams are aligned, blockers are removed, and high-quality solutions are delivered on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of integration-focused projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and public sector standards.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional technical teams, fostering collaboration between developers, architects, business analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of API-based integrations between multiple systems and services.
  • Support the adoption of event-based architecture to enable real-time, scalable, and decoupled systems.
  • Ensure the effective design, development, and deployment of microservices to support modular, maintainable, and resilient service delivery.
  • Manage delivery risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring mitigations are in place.
  • Champion Agile and DevOps best practices, continuous delivery, and iterative improvement.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable updates.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant public sector delivery frameworks and governance requirements.
  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager or similar role within the public sector or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of API development and integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience working with event-based architectures (e.g., Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, Azure Event Hub, etc.).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and container-based deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to influence and manage expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage delivery across multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments.

Contract and Clearance

This role at Amber Labs is a 12 Month salary based FTC and all employees are required to meet BPSS Clearance. Please be advised that, at this time, we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship or hold a visa of any type.
