We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Transforming Lives, our prison education provider at HMP Lowdham Grange, working as an ESOL and Entry-Level English Teacher. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40hrs per week.

Site Information

HMP Lowdham Grange is a Category B men's prison, located in the village of Lowdham in Nottinghamshire, England. The prison is operated by HMPPS. This prison accommodates male offenders aged 21 and over. The team’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Achieve performance and quality targets
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting
  • Demonstrate positive team working
  • Have experience of conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
  • Have experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities.
  • Have experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
  • Have experience creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • A good track record achieving of quality targets
  • Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, a relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
